Log Line: From the cobblestone streets of historic Providence to the shores of fashionable Newport, this classic drama, steeped in romance, deception, secrets and lies, traces the events leading up to the murder of a charismatic but cunning playboy.

Synopsis: Outside an old Newport sea captain's house on Halloween, gunshots pierce the air and a handsome playboy dressed as the devil tumbles off the widow's walk onto the rocks below, impaled by his pitchfork.

Who killed Derek Clawson? And why? Was it Tina Toscano, the murder victim's wife? Or was it Tony Toscano, Tina's ungrateful and spoiled brother? Or Arthur Williams, her first husband? Was it Charlie Milano, war hero, successful attorney, and the man who has loved Tina since childhood? Or was it simply a burglary attempt gone sour, as the cops suspect? Enter Detective Marty Hart, who learns Tina Toscano's story from Mame Colianni, Tina's dearest friend and business manager.

Flashback to three years earlier: Tina's world has begun to crumble when her husband Arthur, who has been fired from Charlie Milano's law firm after stealing money from a client's account, leaves her with a mountain of bills and a lovely house in the exclusive Blackstone Boulevard section of Providence mortgaged to the hilt. Tina accepts Charlie's offer to manage his new law office and begins to put her fractured life back together. With the help and support of Charlie and Mame, a wise-cracking waitress, Tina sells the Blackstone Boulevard property and moves back to her childhood home on Federal Hill, an Italian working-class neighborhood. Before long, she has saved enough money to buy a run-down English pub from society playboy Derek Clawson. Tina and Derek soon become lovers, and Tina's life seems to be turning around until Angelina, her baby sister, accidentally drowns. To assuage her grief, Tina throws herself into work, opens a chain of Italian restaurants bearing her family name, and marries Derek. But her successful ventures are tainted by Tony's demands for money and Derek's growing financial dependency. Tensions mount even higher when Tina learns that Tony is selling drugs.

Now a full-partner in Tina's enterprise, Derek convinces his wife to take a vacation and leave the business in his hands. Rested and relaxed, Tina returns from Italy, only to discover that Derek—with the help of her own brother—has stolen her money and sold all her restaurants. Derek has legally bled her dry and Tina must start all over again. But two days after Tina becomes aware of Derek's duplicity, he is killed. Everyone hated him. Everyone had a reason to murder him. But who did kill Derek Clawson?
